What Is the Revolut Ultra Plan?

The Revolut Ultra Plan is designed for frequent travelers who want comfort and exclusive benefits while exploring the world. Real Benefits of the Revolut Ultra Plan in Our Last Trip

Beyond the features listed on the official site, we want to share how the Revolut Ultra Plan helped us save money on our recent trip to Costa Rica. To provide a real comparison, Ignacio subscribed to the Revolut Ultra Plan, while I continued using the standard Revolut card. Let’s see how our expenses compared:

Comparison of Expenses: Revolut Ultra Plan vs. Standard Plan

Travel Insurance:

  • Kasia (Standard Plan): $50
  • Ignacio (Ultra Plan): $0 (Travel Insurance included in the Revolut Ultra plan).

eSIM with Internet:

  • Kasia: $20 (purchased an eSIM from Airalo).
  • Ignacio: $0 (3GB of global data included in the Revolut Ultra Plan).

Airport Lounge Access with Revolut Ultra

  • Kasia: $30 (used the companion discount from Ignacio’s Revolut Ultra Card). While this isn’t a necessity, with 2-3 hour layovers, the lounge access was a lifesaver. Considering the cost of a sandwich and coffee at most airports, the price difference is minimal.
  • Ignacio: $0 (unlimited access included).

Cashback on Payments:

  • Ignacio received $20 cashback just from purchasing our flights using the Revolut Ultra card. The amount depends on how much you spend, but in our case, it made a noticeable difference.

Total Costs

  • Kasia (Standard Plan): $100
  • Ignacio (Ultra Plan): $45 (after factoring in Revolut Ultra cashback, the plan practically paid for itself).

Revolut Ultra Disadvantages: Hidden Fees & Limitations

  • If you cancel your Revolut Ultra subscription within the first six months, you’ll have to pay a $65 fee.
  • On our last trip to Slovakia, the Revolut Ultra card didn’t fit into an Euronet ATM. We usually try to avoid these ATMs because, in almost every country we visit, they tend to charge the highest fees. However, sometimes there’s no other option, and if the only available ATM doesn’t accept your Revolut Ultra card, it’s a problem. In that case, you’d have to use another card, which could mean paying even higher fees.

Conclusion: Is the Revolut Ultra Plan Worth It?

The Revolut Ultra Plan made our trip smoother and helped us save some cash. If you travel a lot and care about things like travel insurance, mobile data, and airport lounges, this plan could be a great fit.

Next time we go on a longer trip, we’re both signing up for Ultra. Honestly, the travel insurance alone makes it worth it. The best part? You can cancel anytime—use it just for your trip and stop it afterward if you don’t need it anymore. Just keep in mind: if you cancel within the first six months, there’s a $65 fee.

From our experience, the Revolut Ultra Plan is totally worth it if you travel often or have a big trip coming up. The perks you get easily make up for the price—especially if you use them smartly.
